Molecular characterization of the melanin-concentrating-hormome receptor
Article Abstract:
The natural ligand of the orphan G-protein-couple receptor (GPCR) SLC-1 is shown to be the neuropeptide melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) which is a cyclic peptide regulating feeding behavior in the mammalian brain. Nanomolar concentrations of MCH are shown to strongly activate SLC-1 related pathways via G alpha i and G alpha q proteins.

Structural adaptability in the ligand-binding pocket of the ecdysone hormone receptor
Article Abstract:
The crystal structures of the ligand-binding domains of the ecdysone receptor with ultraspiracle show heterodimerization. However, the receptor in complex with steroidal and non-steroidal ligands display partially overlapping ligand-binding pockets.
