Influence of burrow acoustics on sound reception by frogs Eupsophus (Leptodactylidae)
Article Abstract:
A study shows that the burrows occupied by the male laptodactylid frog amplify sounds of conspecific calls made by the nearby individuals because of their resonant character. Conspecific calls played through a speaker placed near the burrow are also amplified. This amplification of external sound inside the burrows help E. emiliopugini in detecting distant callers. It also influences vocal interactions in E. emiliopugini. The playback calls of a sympatric species, which are unlike the E. emiliopugini calls, do not amplify inside the burrows to the same extent.

Temporal selectivity of evoked vocal responses of Batrachyla antartandica (Amphibia: Leptodactylidae)
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the temporal features of Batrachyla antartandica's evoked vocal responses. Eleven male leptodactylid frogs were subjected to a recorded imitation of advertisement calls. The subjects did not exhibit significant differences in evoked vocal responses to stimuli. Results stress the importance of sound temporal processing in specific vocal behavior patterns in frogs.

Effects of enhanced lighting on the behaviour of nocturnal frogs
Article Abstract:
The behavior of nocturnal frogs under high intensity light treatment shows that their ability to find and catch prey decreases because their vision is temporarily impaired by the light. The constant shifts in light intensify when frogs are under observation, affecting their behavioral pattern. This inhibits their activity and influences the outcome of the experiment.
