Influence of time-in-residence on home range and habitat use of bobcats
Article Abstract:
Evidence shows that time-in-residence exerts a considerable influence on bobcat home ranges and habitat use. In a study of 27 bobcats in east central Mississippi from Jan 1, 1989, to Dec 31, 1996, it was found that changes in home range size were dependent on sex as time-in-residence increased. The annual home range size of male bobcats increased and that of female bobcats decreased with time-in-residence. On the other hand, habitat composition of male bobcat home ranges appeared to change over time.

Recreational shooting of prairie dogs: A portal for lead entering wildlife food chains
Article Abstract:
Recreational shooters largely use expanding bullets and rarely remove or bury carcasses, hence shot prairie dog could make lead accessible to predators and scavengers. Carcasses shot by recreational shooters with 2 bullet types are examined and it is found that bullet type influences the probability of bullet fragments being retained in carcasses.
