Inhibition of skin development by targeted expression of a dominant-negative retinoic acid receptor
Article Abstract:
The expression of the dominant-negative retino acid receptor (RAR) in the epidermis, a powerful target organ of retinoic acid (RA) of mouse results in the significant suppression of epidermal maturation. This indicates that RA is essential for the normal development of skin in transgenic mice. The RAR expression is achieved by the substitution of single amino-acid resulting in the formation of negative thyroid hormone receptors.

Scratching the surface of skin development
Article Abstract:
The main features of mammalian skin epithelium from embryogenesis to adult are studied and shown how dysregulation of the normal process of wound healing in the skin epidermis lead to skin disorders like cancers and chronic inflammation. The analysis of mouse skin has shown the skin to be a rich source of readily accessible stem cells.

Calcium sensitization of smooth muscle mediated by a Rho-associated protein kinase in hypertension
Article Abstract:
Smooth-muscle contraction is controlled by the cytosolic Casuper2+ concentration and by the Casuper2+ myofilament sensitivity. It is shown than pyridine derivative Y-27632, inhibits smooth-muscle contraction selectively, by inhibiting Casuper2+ sensitization. This target is a Rho-associated protein kinase p160ROCKsuper7.
