Interchromosomal associations between alternatively expressed loci
Article Abstract:
Interchromosomal interactions between the promoter region of the IFN-gamma gene on chromosome 10 and regulatory regions of the T(sub H)2-cytokine locus on chromosome 11 are described. A cell type specific dynamic interaction is observed between interacting chromatin partners whereby interchromosomal interactions are apparently lost in favor of intrachromosomal ones upon gene activation.

Sensing the enemy within
Article Abstract:
The identification of a cyctolic factor called DAI (or DLM-1 or ZBP1) as a DNA sensor is described. The identification of DAI as a cystosolic DNA sensor has shown that DAI can be used in detecting both microbial products and danger signals such as damaged host DNA.

Toll-like receptor 3 promotes cross-priming to virus-infected cells
Article Abstract:
A mechanism that promotes cross-priming during viral infections is described. It is shown that murine Cd8 alpha(super +) dendritic cells are activated by double-stranded (ds) RNA present in virally infected cells but absent from unidentified cells.
