Japan backs the production of vectors for gene therapy
Article Abstract:
A new Japanese company, known as DNAVEC Research Inc, will manufacture new vectors for gene therapy as a joint effort between seven pharmaceutical companies with the support of the semi-governmental organization of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The company was created to advance Japan's gene therapy applications to the level of Western developed nations. Japanese research, however, continues to depend on the technological knowledge and methods borrowed from the West.
