Japan acts to speed technology transfer from universities
Article Abstract:
Efforts by the Japanese government to establish better links between industry, government and academia will include legislation encouraging technology transfer from universities and government laboratories to the commercial sector. Under this legislation, universities will be encouraged to work with industry to promote the use of government-backed science. The universities themselves will not necessarily benefit from this approach.
