Korean scandal will have global fallout

South Korea's star cloner Woo Suk Hwang is asked to retract his landmark paper on the creation of embryonic stem cells from adult human tissue which created a biggest scientific scandal. Scientists fear that this scandal will damage not only the public perceptions of stem cell research, but also science's image as a whole.

Article Abstract:
The derivation of stem cells from a cloned human embryo by a South Korean team is discussed. There was complete lack of transparency regarding the procedures for obtaining the donated eggs for stem-cell research.
