Laterality defects in conjoined twins
Article Abstract:
Laterality defects in conjoined twins depend on the orientation of the twins. These laterality defects are absent in the twins joined only at the pelvis or at the head. However, in half of the conjoined twins joined laterally at the chest or joined obliquely at the abdomen and/or chest, one of the twins has a reversal in the heart site. In twin chick embryos, when primitive streaks are unparallel, the determination of which embryo will have laterality defects depends on their distance from each other and relative angle.

Formation of the radio jet in M87 at 100 Schwarzschild radii from the central black hole
Article Abstract:
Observations of the inner regions of the nearby active galaxy M87 are reported, revealing a broad jet with an opening angle of around 60 degrees near the centre. A strong collimation of the jet occurs at around 30-100 Schwarzschild radii from the black hole. The results indicate that the jets are formed by an accretion disk around the central black hole.
