The mating and nesting habits of the Flame Robin, and the physical characteristics of a particularly large mosquito, the Toxorhynchites speciosus, are described. Topics include the habits of some female robins to share a nest with another female, when feeding nestlings; and the reliance of Toxorhynchites speciosus on plant juices rather than blood, and the mosquito's metallic appearance.

Mainland quokkas
Article Abstract:
The 'rat-like' creature known as the quakkas that are found in the higher-rainfall areas of south-west Australia and habitats dense vegetation are described. They originally occurred along the coast and adjacent high-rainfall, forested areas from Jurien Bay but now they occurs as isolated populations on the Darling Plateau to the east of Perth.
