Lifestyles of the rich and famous?
Article Abstract:
Resort and club members at the Jumby Bay Resort on Long Island, off the coast of Antigua, are funding research on the nesting practices of a colony of endangered hawksbill sea turtles. The project involves daily, nine-hour nocturnal observations by researchers. Resort owners have already planted sea grape plants, shored up the beaches and taken out destructive sea oats under instructions from the research team. The program, begun in 1987, is part of the United Nations' Wider Caribbean Sea Turtle Conservation Network.
