Logarithmic rate dependence of force networks in sheared granular materials
Article Abstract:
Several models of slow, dense granular flows make the assumption that the stresses occurring internally are autonomous of the shearing rate. In comparison, logarithmic rate dependence is extant in solid-on-solid friction, geological settings and elsewhere.

Upper limits to submillimetre-range forces from extra space-time dimensions
Article Abstract:
The approach showing the most promise to the long-pursued unified description of the four forces of nature and the elementary particles is string theory. However, there is no direct evidence supporting it.

Three-dimensional binary superlattices of magnetic nanocrystals and semiconductor quantum dots
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on semiconductor quantum dots and magnetic nanocrystals. The authors describe the self-assembly of these materials into the ordered three-dimensional superlattices.
