A large-scale RNAi screen in human cells identifies new components of the p53 pathway
Article Abstract:
For the purpose of performing loss-of-function genetic screens in lower organisms, RNA interference (RNAi) which is considered to be a powerful tool is developed. These new tools are expected to facilitate the large-scale loss-of-function genetic screens, in mammalian cells.

Control of spontaneous and damage-induced mutagenesis by SUMO and ubiquitin conjugation
Article Abstract:
Research has been conducted on proliferating cell nuclear antigen. The authors have demonstrated that RAD6-mediated mono-ubiquitization of proliferating cell nuclear antigen activates translesion DNA synthesis via damage-tolerant polymerases nu and zeta in yeast.
