Article Abstract:
A description is presented of the experiences of a badly-neglected litter of puppies who suffered from severe frostbite. The rehabilitation of one of the puppies and his use as a therapy dog to help sick children are discussed.

The campaign by a group of Polish environmentalists and farmers to resist the introduction of intensive pork farming methods is discussed. After a year-long campaign Smithfield withdrew its plan to build pork factory farms.
