Magnetic-field-induced shape recovery by reverse phase transformation
Article Abstract:
The magnetic-field-induced shape recovery of a compressively deformed NiCoMnIn alloy is reported. Three percent deformation and almost full recovery of the original shape of the alloy is observed on application of stress, which is due to a reverse transformation from the antiferromagnetic or paramagnetic martensitic to the ferromagnetic parent phase.

Direct detection of a magnetic field in the innermost regions of an accretion disk
Article Abstract:
Magnetic fields play a crucial role in the physics of astrophysical accretion disks and their associated winds and jets. Regarding this, the direct detection of the magnetic field in the core of the protostellar accretion disk FU Orionis is reported.
