Maternal antibodies block malaria
Article Abstract:
Research on pregnant women and their susceptibility to malaria has been carried out in Kenya and on the Thai-Burmese border. Women pregnant for the first time are more likely to suffer attacks of malaria, and this is linked to lack of anti-adhesion antibodies. Such antibodies provide protection for pregnant women against malaria. There is a strong case for the development of an anti-adhesion vaccine to protect women against maternal malaria in tropical countries.

Pimp my antibody
Article Abstract:
Researchers and drug companies are hoping to introduce a new convoy of antibody drugs that is safer to patient and more lethal to pathogens or destructive cells. The redesign is inspired by some public disasters and antibody therapies are successful in part as they work against some diseases for which treatment options are scarce, such as cancer.
