Mixing, volatile loss and compositional change during impact-driven accretion of the Earth
Article Abstract:
The degree to which efficient mixing of new material or losses of earlier accreted material to space characterize the growth of Earth-like planets is poorly constrained and probably changed with time. The potential effects of changes in oxidation on the W isotopic evolution of the Earth could be significant, whether caused by changes in the composition of accreted material or blow-off.

Cooling of the Earth and core formation after the giant impact
Article Abstract:
The dramatic cooling of the Earth took place after the putative moon-forming giant impact, which contributed the final approximately10 percent of the Earth's mass. The result of Kelvin's study shows that Earth cooled by about 4,000 K in returning from a fully molten to a partially crystalline state.

Silicon in the Earth's core
Article Abstract:
The study of similar isotopic composition in silicate in the Earth and the Moon before the giant impact concluded that silicon was present as light element in the Earth's core before the formation of the Moon.
