More like a man
Article Abstract:
An attempt is made to find the reasons for experiencing a reproductive decline with increased age, among most female mammals. It was stated that this is mainly due to the depletion of germline stem cells coupled with a high follicular age-dependent incidence of defects occurring during reductive divisions when oocytes matures.

Adult pancreatic beta-cells are formed by self-duplication rather than stem-cell differentiation
Article Abstract:
The method for genetic lineage tracing is described for determining the contribution of stem cells to a tissue of interest. The major source of new beta-cells during adult life and after pancreatectomy in mice are the pre-existing beta-cells.

The road not taken
Article Abstract:
Haematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) give rise to progenitor populations that can be isolated by using antibodies against cell surface proteins. The findings imply that there is no single obligatory path from HSCs to granulocytes or monocytes.
