Negative feedback for B cells
Article Abstract:
Fujita and colleagues describe a new component of an elegant double-negative circuit that regulates the differentiation of B cells into antibody - secreting plasma cells. In light of Fujita and colleagues' findings, it is conceivable that the myeloma 'stem cells' are produced through the dedifferentiation of the cells that resemble plasma cells back into the germinal-centre B-cell state.

Observation of a dewetting transition in the collapse of the melittin tetramer
Article Abstract:
Experts investigate whether the hydrophobic induced collapse of multinomial protein or the formation of protein oligimers exhibits a similar dying transition. The findings reveal that this dying is very sensitive to single mutation of the three isoleucines to less hydrophobic residues and that such mutations in the right locations can switch the channel from being dry to being wet.
