Noninvasive estimation of black bear abundance incorporating genotyping errors and harvested bear
Article Abstract:
The noninvasive population-estimation work of the black bear is expanded by geographically extending sampling areas to include the entire Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan (NLP), USA. Results show the estimated population of the black bear that is required by wildlife managers to sustainability to harvest over a large area.

Estimating population size from DNA-based closed capture-recapture data incorporating genotyping error
Article Abstract:
A class of models is presented for estimating the size of a demographically and geographically closed population when there exists some probability of misidentifying individuals. The methods applied allow genotyping error rate to be directly estimated and abundance appropriately corrected.

Applying landscape-scale habitat-potential models to understand deer spatial structure and movement patterns
Article Abstract:
The spatial structure and seasonal movement patterns of deer can be realized well by the use of habitat-type classifications and habitat potential as proved by the logistic regression model.
