Relationships between abundance of Cascade torrent salamanders and forest age
Article Abstract:
Research on forest habitat selection of Washington's Cascade torrent salamanders (Rhyacotriton cascadae) is presented. Salamander populations were lowest in 0- to 24-year-old forest stands, highest in 25- to 60-year-old stands, and intermediate in stands 61 years of age or older. Implications of successional changes for salamander populations are discussed.

Effects of timber management on pond-breeding salamanders
Article Abstract:
The study results of spotted salamanders and marbled salamanders migrating to 3 vernal ponds during their breeding seasons suggest that clear clear-cut habitats might become suitable for adult pond-breeding salamanders after a relatively short regeneration period.

Salamander dispersal across a forested landscape fragmented by a golf course
Article Abstract:
The observation of dispersal behavior of 78 radiotagged adult spotted salamanders (Ambystoma maculatum) at a 36-hole golf course in southeastern Connecticut, U.S. suggest that the core terrestrial habitat would have to extend 370 m to protect 95% of adult females.
