Article Abstract:
New discovery about Giardia's own innards, which makes the parasite look rather more run-of-the-mill, has caused a rift among evolutionary biologists is reviewed. The arguments about its role in the history of life will have to be reconsidered and the fight to retain GiardiaEs iconic status is presented.
