Orbitally induced oscillations in the East Antarctic ice sheet at the Oligocene/Miocene boundary
Article Abstract:
There is evidence of well dated cyclic variations in sediment data from shallow marine cores in the western Ross Sea. These cores connect the extent of the East Antarctic ice sheet with orbital cycles during the Oligocene/Miocene transition.

Continental ice in Greenland during the Eocene and Oligocene
Article Abstract:
The article reports that extensive ice-rafted debris from Norwegian-Greenland Sea is likely to have come from East Greenland, which suggests existence of isolated glaciers on Greenland in Eocene and Oligocene periods.

Orbitally paced climate oscillations across the Oligocene/Miocene boundary
Article Abstract:
Stable-isotope and per cent coarse-fraction data from an equatorial, western Atlantic deep-sea-sediment core give a valuable insight into climate variability across the Oligocene/Miocene transition, between 22.5 million and 25.7 million years ago. The Hole 929A isotope time series produced by this research shows a strong 40-kyr periodicity in the oxygen isotope record. This aligns with a high-latitude orbital (obliquity) control on ice-volume and temperature. There is strong support for a palaeoceanographic response to the longer-period Milankovitch cycles.
