Out of the blue
Article Abstract:
An overview is presented on the growth and development of reef-fishes, particularly the speed at which the tiny larvae migrate from the open waters to the coral reefs, some swimming at an average of 14 times their body length per second. Further research is needed to determine how larvae are able to detect the presence of reefs from up to two km away.
