Pandemic 'dry run' is cause for concern
Article Abstract:
The avian flu cases in Indonesia in May 2006 are being seen by many experts as a dry run for the handling of an emerging pandemic virus. The World Health Organization (WHO) has tried to help the affected nation, but the critics have alleged that the response to the virus has shown how ill-prepared the international community and affected nations still are.

'Refusal to share' leaves agency struggling to monitor bird flu
Article Abstract:
The Asian countries affected by the bird flu viruses are refusing to share their human samples with the World Health Organizations influenza program in Geneva. These countries are reluctant to share the samples with outside laboratories because they fear losing control over information on bird flu.
