The apprentice

The Junior Zoo Apprentice Program (JZAP) at the Philadelphia Zoo was started in 1996 to expand zoo career opportunities for deserving young people from challenged communities. Experienced apprentices qualify for the annual safaris based on grades, job performance at the zoo and an essay.
