Possible flush instability in mantle convection at the Archaean-Proterozoic transition
Article Abstract:
The rapid growth of the continental crust and the dramatic increase in cratonic sediments were just one of the many geological changes that may have occurred in the Archean period. Evidences also show that this period was also marked by climatic changes due to the changing composition of the atmosphere and the level of sea water. Simulations of mantle convection occurring at late Archean are presented to examine the causes of volcanic activity which also accompanied this period.

Heavenly phenomena
Article Abstract:
Aratus the Cilician's work, "Phaenomena," which summarizes the astronomical knowledge of Aratus's age, is considered to be one of the greatest works of Greek science. Most of the book is a map of the sky, specifying pole, axis of rotation, and constellations, as well as information on wind and clouds.

The realms of Archaean life
Article Abstract:
It has been possible to identify evidence of early microbial life in deep-sea volcanic rocks that are around 3,200 million years old. The evidence is thread-like filaments that could be fossils of microorganisms.
