Proton-proton correlations observed in two-proton radioactivity of (super 94)Ag
Article Abstract:
Proton-proton correlations are reported, which are observed during the radioactive decay of a spinning long-lived state of the lightest known isotope of silver, (super 94)Ag, which is known to undergo one-proton decay. It is inferred from these correlations that the long-lived state must also decay through simultaneous two-proton emission, making (super 94)Ag the first nucleus to exhibit one-as well as two-proton radioactivity.

Odd couple decays
Article Abstract:
The simultaneous emission of two protons, from a complex, long-lived state of the silver isotope (super 94)Ag, which has an odd number of protons, is reported. This type of radioactive decay is expected only for proton-rich nuclei with an even number of protons.

Panning for ununbium
Article Abstract:
Researchers have used gold to pan for mercury's heavier homologue, the superheavy element 112. The synthesis and characteristics of superheavy element 112 are discussed.
