Geophysical evidence from the MELT area for compositional controls on oceanic plates
Article Abstract:
Magnetotelluric and seismic data, which was collected during the MELT experiment at the southern East Pacific Rise restricts the distribution of melt beneath the mid-ocean-ridge spreading centre and the evolution of the oceanic lithosphere. A decrease in water caused by the melting process beneath the spreading centre controls the structure of young oceanic plates.

The effect of water on the electrical conductivity of olivine
Article Abstract:
The dependence of the electrical conductivity of olivine aggregates on water content at high temperature and pressure is examined. The results have shown that the electrical conductivity is strongly dependent on water content but depends mostly on temperature.
