Protons lead the charge
Article Abstract:
Two groups of geoscientists have demonstrated that small amounts of hydrogen increase the electrical conductivity of olivine, a silicate that is the most abundant mineral in Earth's upper mantle, by between 100 and 1,000 times. The experimental results have given an initial verification of a process that is proposed to explain high electrical conductivity in the Earth's upper mantle, but also supply several caveats.

A low fraction of nitrogen in molecular form in a dark cloud
Article Abstract:
The [N.sub.H.sup.+] abundance inside a cold dark molecular cloud is reported. An argument is provided to stress the fact that the elemental nitrogen abundance deficiency in comets can be understood if the atomic oxygen abundance is lower than predicted by present chemical models.

Solution to a marine mystery
Article Abstract:
The only way of N2 production in oceans is by the process of denitrification, due to the decomposition of certain bacteria over the marine plants. But many researches proved that N2 is produced by the anaerobic oxidation of ammonia in the oceanic water column.
