Raising rosellas
Article Abstract:
A description is presented on Crimson Rosellas, Platycercus elegans, a brightly colored red and blue parrot living primarily in New South Wales and Victoria, Australia. Although not endangered, Rosellas are vulnerable to nesting habitat loss from timber industry activities such as clearing, and from competition with other hollow-dwelling species.

The problem with wilderness
Article Abstract:
Australia's patchwork system of small national parks is insufficient to protect the biodiversity of Australia's animals and plants. The author suggests that as long as the desire for growth and excessive consumption outweighs the need to set aside more land, Australia's environmental protection program will not be sufficient.
