Rapid communication: molecular cloning of the porcine beta2-adrenergic receptor gene
Article Abstract:
The porcine beta2-adrenergic receptor gene beta2AR belongs to the family of seven transmembrane domain proteins. This was gleaned from the molecular cloning of the porcine beta2AR. Its coding region nucleotide sequence was found to be 87% identical to human and 84% identical to rat beta2AR. However, it was found to be only 50% to 65% identical to beta1AR and beta3AR from human and rat. Its putative amino acid sequence is 92% similar to human and rat, while only 64% to 68% identical to beta(sub 1)AR and beta(sub 3)AR from human and rat.

Rapid Communication: molecular cloning of the porcine corticotropin-releasing factor gene
Article Abstract:
The porcine corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) gene was cloned using a 664-bp DNA fragment encoding the complete CRF gene amplified from pig genomic DNA. Forward and reverse primers were derived from a multiple sequence alignment of human, mouse and rat sequence data. The pig CRF gene contained no introns and had an open reading frame of 573 nucleotides encoding a protein of 191 amino acid residues. The amino acid sequence of the porcine CRF was 83% similar to human and 75% similar to rat.

Rapid communication: nucleotide sequence of the coding region for the porcine beta1-adrenergic receptor gene
Article Abstract:
The coding region of the a pig's beta1-adrenergic receptor gene was enlarged from its adipose tissue mRNA through reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction. The porcine genomic DNA cosmid was also screened by utilizing the cDNA probe while The Southern blot analysis was used to identify the restriction fragments which contain the coding sequence. Results revealed that the nucleotide sequence of the pig's beta1-adrenergic receptor gene coding region is 92% similar to human.
