An unpublished Alfred Russell Wallace paper has illustrated that even at an early age he was bold enough to approach the scientific establishment with his ideas. This discovery of an unpublished paper has illustrated the increasing value of the Internet as a means of identifying archival sources relevant to ongoing research.
