Regulation of activity of the transcription factor GATA-1 by acetylation
Article Abstract:
GATA-1 is reported to be acetylated in vitro by p300, increasing the amount of GATA-1 bound to DNA, and changing the mobility of GATA-1-DNA compounds. It is also acetylated in vivo, with acetylation directly stimulating GATA-1-dependent transcription. It is proposed that acetylation of transcription factors can change interactions and is integral to transcription and differentiation processes.

PCNA connects DNA replication to epigenetic inheritance in yeast
Article Abstract:
Research into the effects of mutations in the proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) on DNA replication and epigenetic inheritance is presented. PCNA's involvement in silencing indicates that DNA replication and epigenetic inheritance are linked.
