Article Abstract:
The construction process of Gran Telescopic Canarias (GTC), which is located on La Palma, a Spanish Canary Island, will be nearly completed by the end of 2005 and take the title of the world's largest optical telescope. The GTC which is an idea perceived by Francisco Sanchez, a Spanish astronomer, will house several special instruments to extract maximum information from the photons it collects.

Catalytic gold rush
Article Abstract:
Researchers have used gold-catalyzed reaction as the key step in the synthesis of an organic molecule. A study using gold chloride as a catalyst in a short and efficient synthesis of part of a naturally occurring compound is presented.
