Risk: a suitable case for analysis?
Article Abstract:
Scientific risk assessment has become a controversial topic for environmental debates since the rise of disasters involving unfounded regulations by the US government agency. Environmentalists at first were wary of the risk evaluation due to a possibly biased implementation but the EPA has continued on using risk evaluation in accordance with public health welfare. The Republicans, despite earlier rejections, are bent on legislating that environmental regulations should be based on the overall result of the risk assessment.

Stray seeds had antibiotic-resistance genes
Article Abstract:
Genetically modified corn seeds containing a gene for antibiotic resistance are sometimes considered inadvisable as there is small chance that they could flow from crops to microorganisms and spread problems of antibiotic resistance. The Swiss biotechnology company Syngenta admitted that it has accidentally released a variety of corn called Bt10, which was genetically modified to produce a protective pesticide.
