Role of learning in three-dimensional form perception
Article Abstract:
The human visual system learns to associate inconsistently paired two-dimensional (2-D) projections to projectionally consistent three-dimensional (3-D) structures. This learning affects 3-D form perception. High-level recognition processes are used in the perception of shapes. Object-specific learning is also generalized to other similar objects. Intrinsic structural characteristics of the 2-D and 3-D forms are less important than the mutual temporal correlation of the two forms in the formation of such associations.

The formation of cubic ice under conditions relevant to Earth's atmosphere
Article Abstract:
Laboratory experiments demonstrating that cubic ice forms when micrometer-sized droplets of pure water and aqueous solutions freeze homogeneously at cooling rates approaching those found in the atmosphere are presented. The results, together with heat transfer calculations, suggest that cubic ice would form in the Earth's atmosphere.

General conditions for predictivity in learning theory
Article Abstract:
The characterization of conditions on the hypothesis space, where the generalization for the natural class of empirical risk minimization (ERM) is ensured, is a milestone in the learning theory 1-5. It is believed that the most natural learning algorithm is ERM.
