Rubber hands 'feel' touch that eyes see
Article Abstract:
Illusions can provide information on perceptual processes, and an experiemtn has investigated an illusion involving the interaction of proprioception, touch and vision. Ten subjects were touched with a brush on their hands, that were hidden from view, while the subjects were able to see a rubber hand that was touched at the same time. The subjects reported feeling the rubber hand being touched. This experiment illustrates that intermodal matching can give rise to self-attribution.

Feeling bumps and holes
Article Abstract:
A robotic device has been used in a task involving the detection of bumps and holes to demonstrate that force cues, rather than geometric cues, determine perceived shape. This work may produce new information about how perceptions of shape are created from sensory signals gained during active touch.

Action plans used in action observation
Article Abstract:
The authors discuss the mechanism mapping the observed action onto motor representation of this action. They report that the coordination between the gaze and the moving hand is more predictive than reactive.
