Article Abstract:
The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has issued a bulletin on Risk Assessment, outlining proposed changes to the way the government conducts the scientific studies that quantify the risks to human health, safety and the environment, to attain a standard of risk assessment across the government. Environmental and consumer groups charge that its real aim is to weaken the Environmental protection Agency (EPA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA), thus moving regulations in industry's favor without the knowledge of the public.
