Signalling displays during predator-prey interactions in a Puerto Rican anole, Anolis cristellus
Article Abstract:
It has been established that predator inspection, dewlapping, push-ups and lateral face-off are predator deterrent signals in Puerto Rican crested anoles, Anolis cristatellus. When this crested anole first recognizes a predator, it make may more use of behavioural signals than of flight. In research using a snake model as predator, the most common behaviour displayed by A. cristatellus was immobility. Significantly more push-up displays were seen following exposure to the snake model than during control observations.

Trends in animal behavior research (1968-2002): Ethoinformatics and the mining of the library databases
Article Abstract:
Modern bioinformatic tools are applied to titles and keywords of animal behavior publications contained in an electronic library database to examine trends in animal behavior research. The study of animal behavior is healthy, growing, and becoming progressively more integrative over time.
