Social influences on conservation: lessons from U.S. recovery for marine mammals
Article Abstract:
The Marine Mammal Protection Act and the U.S. Endangered Species Act are facing challenges due to biological uncertainty, social organizations that influence the decision-making behavior of program participants. The need to improve marine mammal recovery program through training, evaluation, and development of prototype programs is emphasized.
