Article Abstract:
The foraging behavior of the Saharan silver ant, Cataglyphis bombycina (C. bombycina), probably results from competition with other ant species for food rather than from the need to avoid the ant-eating lizard Acanthodactylus dumerili. The hypothesis that the lower limit of C. bombycina's foraging temperature range was an adaptational response to the lizard's predation lacks evidence. Moreover, C. bombycina's physiological need to maintain its body temperature through thermoregulation is comparable to what is found in other desert-dwelling animal species.

Physiological and behavioural thermoregulation in bigeye tuna (Thunnus obesus)
Article Abstract:
Bigeye tuna (Thunnus obesus) use both physiology and behavior to quickly change whole-body thermal conductivity by two orders of magnitude. This flexibility in thermoregulation allows the tuna to pursue its prey into depths that would otherwise be too cold. The degree to which these tuna thermoregulate has been uncertain, but new research involving telemetered data demonstrates that the tuna's heat exchangers can be turned on to save warmth while swimming away from the surface or turned off to dissipate warmth while swimming toward the surface.
