Unwanted and wanted sound
Article Abstract:
Delegates to the 133rd annual meeting of the Acoustical Society of America were in consensus regarding the need to control environmental noise and vibration. The attendees were particularly interested in active noise control methods, wherein a controlled source is used to cancel out unwanted sound or vibrations. A special meeting on loudspeakers involved a discussion on improving the quality of wanted sound.

The vocal tract and the sound of a didgeridoo
Article Abstract:
The sound produced by the didgeridoo and the remedy impedance of the player's vocal tract is measured. The findings state that the maxima in the envelope of the sound spectrum are associated with the minima in the impendence of the vocal tract as measured just inside the lips.
