Spatial autocorrelation in California land birds
Article Abstract:
Spatial autocorrelation data suggests that asynchrony is a naturally occurring phenomena in California land bird recruitment and survivorship. Variables included breeding counts, winter counts, migratory patterns, clutch size, body size and diet. No significant spatial autocorrelation was determined for any variables. These findings can help form conservation and population rescue strategies.

Bird extinctions in Atlantic forest fragments of the Vicosa Region, southeastern Brazil
Article Abstract:
Research on Brazils Vicosa forest region indicates that 28 forest bird species are extinct locally, while 25 are vulnerable and 43 are at critical status, verifying the need for conservation efforts. These figures represent more than 60% of the region's forest bird population. Data were obtained from current field work and historical records.

Spatial and Seasonal Patterns of Bird Communities in Italian Agroecosystems
Article Abstract:
The local decline of Italy's farmland bird species may be attributable to winter plowing practices, maize cultivation expansion, landscape simplification, and conversion of diverse grasslands to tilled agrosystems. These same factors may also be the reason for the increase of bird species that have become agricultural pests.
