Article Abstract:
Some meteorites contain silicon carbide that probably derived from star formation occurring before the Solar System existed. The 23rd Lunar and Planetary Sciences Conference in Houston, TX, on Mar 16-20, 1992 focused on how the discovery of these silicon carbide grains not only indicates the chemical composition of the pre-solar environment but also suggests details about the stars' nuclear processes.

Gases make rare appearance
Article Abstract:
It has been possible to identify unexpectedly high concentrations of noble gases in the silicate beads found in a primitive meteorite. It is suggested that the rare gases were implanted when the chondrules in the meteorite were exposed to the solar wind, with the lighter elements being lost later through diffusion.
