Stochastic protein expression in individual cells at the single molecule level
Article Abstract:
A microfluidic-based assay that allows real-time observation of the expression of beta-galactosidase in living Escherichia coli cells with single molecule sensitivity is demonstrated. It is shown that the two parameters of protein expression-the burst size and frequency, is determined directly from real-time monitoring of protein production or extracted from a measurement of the steady-state copy number distribution in a population of cells.

SV40-encoded microRNAs regulate viral gene expression and reduce susceptibility to cytotoxic T cells
Article Abstract:
The identification of microRNAs (miRNAs) encoded by simian virus 40 (SV40) and defines their functional significance for viral infection is reported. SVmiRNAs accumulate at late times in infection, are perfectly complementary to early viral mRNAs, and target those mRNAs for cleavage, the expression of viral T antigens.

A viral microRNA functions as an orthologue of cellular miR-155
Article Abstract:
The properties and functions of a viral microRNA, namely miR-K12-11 miRNA are described. The miR-K12-11 acts as an orthologue of cellular miR-155 and helps in destroying the positive B-cell tumors in infected patients.
