Structure of a repair enzyme interrogating undamaged DNA elucidates recognition of damaged DNA
Article Abstract:
The use of a covalent trapping strategy to capture to human oxoguanine (oxoG) repair protein, 8-oxoguanine DNA glycosylase I (hOGG1), in the act of interrogating normal DNA is reported. The X-ray structure reveals a remarkably effective gate-keeping strategy for lesion discrimination and suggests a mechanism for oxoG insertion into the hOGG1 active site.

The manifold faces of DNA
Article Abstract:
A stunningly simple and versatile approach to the fabrication, by self-assembly, of two-dimensional DNA nanosturctures of arbitrary shape is presented. The best-developed model for DNA design is the 'title-model' developed in Ned Seeman's laboratory which uses as its basic building black DNA in two-dimensional, rectangular shapes.

Structural basis for removal of adenine mispaired with 8-oxoguanine by MutY adenine DNA glycosylase
Article Abstract:
The use of disulphide cross linking to obtain high-resolution crystal structures of MutY-DNA lesion-recognition complexes is reported. These structures recognize both lesions in the A.oxoG pair for catalysing removal of the adenine base.
