Substrate discrimination and preference in foraging fish
Article Abstract:
The study investigated whether the three-spined stickleback, Gasterosteus aculeatus, is capable of discriminating between structurally complex and simple substrates and whether they slow a substrate preference when foraging. Hunger-motivated sticklebacks presented with a choice of simple and complex substrate types preferentially foraged over complex substrates.

Song divergence and male dispersal among bird populations: a spatially explicit model testing the role of vocal learning
Article Abstract:
The effect of song learning on the relation between song divergence and gene flow is poorly understood. The origin and maintenance of song divergence and its consequences for male dispersal between populations is explored.

Testing optimal foraging model air-breathing divers
Article Abstract:
Model of diving optimality qualitatively predict diving behaviors of aquatic birds and mammals. The limits of optimal foraging models for air-breathing divers caused by individual variation are discussed.
