Systematic discovery of regulatory motifs in human promoters and 3' UTRs by comparison of several mammals
Article Abstract:
The comparative analysis of the human, mouse, rat and dog genomes to create a systematic catalogue of common regulatory motifs in promoters and 3' untranslated regions (3' UTRs) are presented. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) regulate at least 20% of human genes and the overall result provides a systematic view of gene regulation in the human, which can be refined as additional mammalian genomes become available.

Genomic analysis of metastasis reveals an essential role for RhoC
Article Abstract:
Research describing a genomic analysis of metastasis is presented. GTpase RhoC is found to enhance metastasis when overexpressed, but a dominant-negative Rho hinders metastasis.

Proof and evolutionary analysis of ancient genome duplication in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Article Abstract:
The erosion of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae is demonstrated. The ancestry of the yeast genome makes it possible to study the fate of duplicated genes.
