Scaling metabolism from organisms to ecosystems
Article Abstract:
The variation in ecosystem processes is currently limited due to metabolism, that acts as energy fluxes. The focus on fundamental importance of metabolism offers a basis to integrate cellular, psychological and ecological attributes of ecological systems.

Long-term relationships between ecological stability and biodiversity in Phanerozoic reefs
Article Abstract:
Ecological stability is related to taxonomic diversity on million-year timescale in biogenic reefs. Ecological stability and productivity may be decoupled in natural ecosystems.
